Hello my name is Karen. I live in a small town in Maryland, I have a business in a small town in Virginia, and I often run errands and do my shopping in small towns in Pennsylvania. Occasionally I get to the city, but mostly I live in a small town world.I'm married and we have 4 kids and 1 dog.
I'm completely obsessed with all things European, particularly French and Italian. I've watched nearly every episode of House Hunters International, dreaming about what it would be like to live in Italy or France or England. One of my favorite books is "Eat Love Pray". It all sounds so romantic to live in Europe doesn't it? Then recently, I met my friend Daniella online. Daniella lives in Italy, not just any part of Italy mind you but, TUSCANY of all places!! And then I wondered... what is life really like there? Is it all Sunshine and Vineyards all the time?
I want to know the real deal. You know, not just the romantic bits, but the every day stuff too. Like grocery shopping and doing laundry and mailing a letter. How do these things differ from my life in Small Town, USA ? How are they the same? So then the idea for this blog was born, and with a little arm twisting I convinced Daniela to join me!

Ciao il mio nome è Karen. Io vivo in una cittadina del Maryland, ho un business in una piccola città in Virginia, e spesso faccio commissioni e la spesa nelle cittadine della Pennsylvania. Di tanto in tanto raggiungo la città, ma vivo soprattutto nel mondo delle piccole cittadine !

Uno dei miei libri preferiti è "Eat Pray Love". Sembra tutto così romantico nel vivere in Europa, non è vero?
Poi di recente ho incontrato la mia amica online Daniela. Daniela vive in Italia, non in una qualsiasi parte d'Italia che può venirvi in mente: tra tutti i posti lei vive in TOSCANA !
E mi sono chiesta ... come sarà davvero la vita lì? È esclusivamente sole splendente e vigneti tutto il tempo?
Voglio sapere come funziona. Sapete, non solo gli aspetti romantici, ma anche le cose ogni giorno. Come fare la spesa ed il bucato, o spedire una lettera. In cosa queste attività differiscono dalla mia vita in una Piccola Città, Stati Uniti d'America? In cosa sono uguali?
Ed allora è nata l'idea per questo blog, ed insistendo un pò ho convinto Daniela a unirsi a me!
Restate sintonizzati, perchè ogni settimana confronteremo diversi aspetti della nostra vita .
